Jolly Music is a fun and multi-sensory music programme which provides a structured and very well planned music curriculum for pre-school and primary children.
It is a wonderful tool for educators, that supports English language acquisition through music and, as music is one of the most suitable or natural subjects to be taught in English, it is also an appropriate introduction to a second language.
Jolly Music is based on the Kodály approach and it focuses on singing. Using our voices as a music tool provides a free resource that is available to everyone and anyone, and singing helps internalise new and often complex language concepts.
Through the use of child-friendly and appropriate materials, it not only provides weekly, structured lesson plans with step by step guidance, but also a carefully chosen repertoire of traditional songs, rhymes and games as folk music is the cultural heritage of a language.
It is essential to reinforce English in Early Years education in order to be able to carry out the billigual primary syllabus (Spain) successfully.
